One of my most treasured lifetime memories was an evening with Sidney Poitier. He was a great actor, but an even greater human being. Dinner with Sidney was a glimpse into a deeply caring, compassionate and intellectual gentleman. Every word was respectful and well thought. One of 7 children from the Bahamas, wed in an interacial marriage, and father of 6 daughters, Mr. Poitier was the ultimate classy gentleman. And the first black actor to win an Academy Award.
To heaven with love ❤ Mr. Poitier.
