Thursday was a very Special Day as I got to share one of my Favorite Catskills mountains, Sugarloaf with !
She wants to start going to the Catskills more and I thought this one would be Fun and Perfect for her! She is such a Strong and Beautiful hiker/person!!

Sugarloaf has everything, Scrambles, Views, Forest, 2 Quarries , Waterfall plus much more!
Weather was cloudy but cool, perfect hiking weather and we had Views!!!!
8 miles and 2200ft of elevation!
Where will we go next month?

Yesterday, I got to take part in the NYNJ Trail Conference Reblazing celebration yesterday.

The luncheon was hosted by Anastasia Tavarez and celebrated the hard work of the Reblazing crew.

Then I got to lead a post luncheon hike to Lewis Mine, Stockbridge and Cave shelters.

It was a fun day with everyone!

I’m starting a series on Great Little Hikes..
3miles or less, some may have scrambles or elevation but these are great if you want to get outside for a few hours..
First up………………….Turkey Mountain.
Yorktown NY 2.3 miles.
Forest , views, some elevation and remnants of an old fire tower that was built in 1926 and used till 1971.

This is a shame!
One of my favorites to visit!

CLOSED: Don't bother visiting one of the Hudson Valley's most scenic wonders. It's now completely inaccessible to visitors thanks to a dispute with a private landowner. https://wpdh.com/access-closed-hiking-trail/

The Observation Deck Trail at Kaaterskill Falls will be temporarily closed for trail maintenance on weekdays from April 23 - April 30, between the hours of 6 AM and 4:30 PM. The observation deck will not be accessible during this time.
