Had a great Spanish bite this morning for the USSA Childs Wish event out of Southport. I was honored to have Liam and his parents on the boat today. I've gotta brag on this young man as he is Super smart and an awesome person. He got a perfect score on the ACT and has a full ride Scholarship to Alabama. He also would make a great mate on a boat as he was setting lines and handling fish in like a pro. This is such a great event and I encourage anyone that can donate their time and boat to participate next year.

Had a great nearshore trip with this group from Raleigh on Friday. We had tons of Spanish action on the troll first thiing with multiple double and triple hookups. We switched over to bottom fishing at the Marriott Reef and caught a ton of Croakers, Pinfish, and Pigfish then this Spadefish paid us a visit and put up an awesome fight. At the end of the trip we hooked up to a small Cobia that was a great treat.

The weatherman must have plead the fifth on their forecast today because it was way rougher than forecasted. But this crew stuck it out and got some decent bottom fish and 2 Mahi for dinner. Oh and the American Reds are so thick we were catching them 2 at a time today.

I have Thursday and Friday (7/30 and 7/31) this week open and the weather looks great. Let's go fishing on the new boat.

Broke in the new boat today with a nice 32 lb. King Mackerel and 3 nice Spanish Mackerel to boot. We were dodging storms left and right but couldn't dodge the last one coming home and ran through a bad cell. These guys did great for their first time offshore fishing and had smiles on their faces even in pouring down rain and gusty winds.

Had a quick morning trip ending earlier than anticipated because of storms coming up quickly. We still caught some nice size Spanish Mackerel with our limited time. Not bad for the first trip out of Southport this year. Looking forward to this season being a good one.

I have Monday the 4th of May open and the weather looks great. Fishing has been great with us catching Atlantic Bonito and Spanish Mackerel nearshore, offshore the King Mackerel bite has been good and it's also the start of Grouper Season. Let's go fishing. Give me a call.

I can now leave from Southport or Carolina Beach.
