"Tesoro" is an Italian and Spanish word that translates to treasure and for us that treasure is Tesoro, a cozy, 26-seat neighborhood restaurant in downtown Carrboro serving housemade pasta, seasonal plates and classic sweets with Italian, French and Croatian influences.

What Happened?! The Importance of Weights, Measures

Did you know that the most significant artifact in the Orange County Historical Museum’s collection is its colonial weights and measures. It is believed to be the only complete set from the 1700s. Other museums in the United States and the United Kingdom have pieces but not a complete set or their sets date from the 1800s and later.

Trolleys will run in downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro the first three Saturdays in August from noon - 8 pm. More information to come.

BIG NEWS: Uproar Festival of Public Art is ON 😻. After much debate after this week's flood and loss of our Eno Arts Mill, we seriously considered the need to cancel the festival. But with the support of our awesome town partners and community, we've decided the show must go on. The arts provide healing, joy, and community, ESPECIALLY in times of crisis. Our artists need the support, and so do our businesses... especially now.

The Recovery Assistance Center at the Drakeford Library Complex is now open.

In response to the impacts of Tropical Storm Chantal, Orange County, Chapel Hill, Carrboro and response partners will open a Recovery Assistance Center (RAC) to provide essential services and support to residents affected by the storm.

Beginning Thursday, July 10, the center will operate at the Drakeford Library Complex located at 203 S. Greensboro St., Carrboro, NC 27510. The RAC will operate July 10 through Saturday, July 12, from 12 to 7 p.m. The event will take place in the Multipurpose room on the first floor.
