Spring is here but winter lingers. This is a great time of year for Lake Tahoe. Yesterday skied powder, and today flew with beautiful skies. Great to open the 2025 season from one of the best vantage points.

Amazing Flight in between storms. Not a boat on the South Shore and Lake Tahoe covered in fresh snow. Cascade Lake, Emerald Bay, low on Pope Beach and Nevada Beach and the East Shore. Very warm and comfortable in heated gloves, boots and jacket about 100 watts each person.

Great start to 2025. New snow, blue skies and beaches of Lake Tahoe vacant. Full heating with about 110 watts each with heated jacket, heated boots and heated gloves. People say it is cold to do powered Hang Gliding but it is warm and comfortable.

What a spectacular flight to end the year. Hard to imagine these pictures are from the same flight. Carson City was overcast and Lake Tahoe was clear. Clouds add spice to the air. What a great year of introducing people to flying. Thank you all.

Flying with the Lake Tahoe Eagles.

Over the last 20 years of flying around Lake Tahoe, the Bald Eagles seem to come out and meet with us. As we approach an area along the Lake Tahoe south shore between the Tahoe Keys and Emerald Bay, they come out and greet us as we fly by. Sometimes I circle around and we circle together.

I get the sense they want to fly with us. Other birds fly away. Bald Eagles fly towards us. Typically, they are too far away to photograph, but this time as the Eagle approached us, I was able to get a shot together as we passed by.
