Close encounters with Sheldon Lake Tahoe Balloons

Sometimes the timing is right. We are doing a To Tahoe Flight and Sheldon is flying where we are going at the same time. Top photo is as close as we can get. Setup photo shows the Balloon "aircraft carrier", as I call it, in lower right, balloon is in sight with full moon above as we are communicating on the radio for the setup fly by. Other photo shows classic Emerald Bay shot.

Big thank you to Sheldon of Lake Tahoe Balloons for having such an incredible operation and working out the flyby. My student passanger is now going to book a balloon flight with her grand dauhter.

Spectacular weather for flying. Warm up high with the temperature inversion and amazing views of Tahoe socked in. You can see the cloud layer flowing over Spooner Pass and evaporating as it heads out to Carson. Looking North we see the Round Rainbow aviatiors call "Glory". Looking South we see why the Indians called Lake Tahoe the "Lake in the Sky" showing Lake Tahoe high above the Carson Valley. Late fall but winter is coming.
