Where building character and sportsmanship is FUN! The Carteret Junior Softball League is committed to instilling character, courage and compassion in the young girls of Carteret. Our goal is to assure your children a safe, enjoyable experience while providing both physical exercise and emotional development in the competitive yet respectable environment of sports. Accomplishing these goals will

require the cooperation of all
our coaches and parents. We need to accentuate and reinforce
the positives, not only the physical achievements but,
sportsmanship, good conduct, and teamwork on and off the field as well. We as parents, coaches, and role models must behave with these objectives in mind. Acting appropriately is essential for the benefit of not only our young girls playing but, also the young adults of our community who are officiating our games. Come out! Get involved with your children! ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE!

Hello CJSL Parents,
We just wanted to send out some information regarding the upcoming 2026 season and Opening Day.

-2026 Softball Registration- Registration is still open for our Ponytail Division and Junior Division. We only have a few spots left. Once these spots fill registration will close for the season for all divisions.

-Team Assignment- This coming week the league team managers will be holding our team draft where players will be assigned to teams. Once completed you will receive an email with your players team assignment and info regarding team practices.

-Player Uniforms- Player uniforms will be handed out to each player a week prior to Opening Day. Once teams are assigned your coach will reach out to verify your players tee shirt size. PLEASE make sure you reply to your coach quickly verifying your players tee shirt size.

-2026 Opening Day- Opening Day will be on Saturday April 11th, 2026. Below is the schedule for Opening Day and we will send out more information closer to the date.

-11:00AM- CJSL softball teams lineup at the Carteret High School parking lot on Louis St.
-11:30AM- Teams parade from the high school up Washington Ave, then down Pershing Ave to Veterans Field at Civic Center Park.
-12:00PM-Opening Day Ceremony with player refreshments

Softball games on Opening Day-
-1:30PM- Gidget game on Mustillo Field (playing team will be announced)
-1:30PM- Junior game on K of C Field (playing team will be announced)

-CJSL Picture Day- CJSL Picture Day will be on Thursday May 7th starting at 6PM. Your coach will give you your team's picture schedule time prior to this day. No games will be played on this day. ALL PLAYERS are required to attend their team's picture time slot to take a team picture even if you are not purchasing pictures.

-Ponytail Division- Grades K-2- 2 Open Spots.
-Gidget Division- Grades 3-5- Closed. Teams are full.
-Junior Division- Grades 6-8- 6 Open Spots

Once these open spots fill registration will be fully closed.
