There’s just something about the Du Quoin State Fair. 🤍

Coming to the fair has become an annual tradition for us, and I swear it gets more charming every year. From the beautifully maintained grounds and gorgeous architecture to the family-friendly atmosphere, free parking, tons of free entertainment, and SO much community involvement… it just feels wholesome in the best possible way.

We seriously adore this fair. 🎡✨

And we’re so happy to be sharing a little fair love with our friends at Banterra Bank!

The Du Quoin State Fair is open through next weekend, so you still have time to make a day of it.

Last night we enjoyed a peak Southern Illinois evening in Cobden. An unbelievable musician, sunset views, food and community.

Did you know that Amelia Eisenhauer is a Southern Illinois native who made it through to Hollywood on American Idol twice? Her parents own Bell Hill, a venue steeped in history that dates back to the 1800s, and often host intimate evenings like this that always leave us buzzing with so much joy.

We have done several weddings and styled shoots here and simply meandering the grounds is an experience in and of itself. We are so grateful they share their space and talents with the world!

Part of the Cedar Lake trail system in the Shawnee National Forest, just off 127. We like this little stretch, about 0.4 mile to the bluff shelter, especially after a good rain when the waterfall is flowing.

It’s short, but rocky and a little rugged, with Cedar Lake views, sandstone bluffs, rock shelters, and plenty to explore. Definitely not beginner terrain, but a trail our kiddos have enjoyed since pretty young.

And as always… tick spray. Always. 🕷️

New favorite in our own backyard! ❤️

We loved the live music, cozy ambience, full tables, and that unmistakable sense of community. The menu has familiar favorites, but they’re elevated…the made-in-house ravioli sauce was extra yummy.😍 And the patio is such a great bonus.

Family-friendly, date-night worthy, and walking distance from our house… we’ll definitely be back!
