D23 HORIZONS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I was up very late watching the LIVE stream!
Last night’s Horizons: A Disney Experiences Showcase was PACKED with announcements, and there is a LOT coming to Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line!
Here are some of the biggest takeaways for Disney fans:
WALT DISNEY WORLD
VILLAINS LAND — We finally got major details on Magic Kingdom’s highly anticipated Villains Land! The land will feature TWO major attractions: a thrilling Maleficent coaster through her briar-filled fortress and a Magic Mirror dark ride that takes guests into a fantastical realm filled with Disney Villains. Plus, dining and shopping!
PISTON PEAK — The new Cars-themed area coming to Magic Kingdom is taking shape! Piston Peak will feature TWO attractions, including an off-road racing adventure and a family-friendly ride, all set in a Rocky Mountain-inspired landscape.
MONSTROPOLIS — We got more looks at the Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios, including new details on the immersive area, attractions, dining and shopping.
TROPICAL AMERICAS — Animal Kingdom’s transformation continues with the new Indiana Jones attraction, “Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent,” plus the previously announced Encanto attraction and new carousel.
THE YETI IS BACK! — One of the biggest cheers of the night went to the announcement that the legendary Yeti will FINALLY return to life inside Expedition Everest!
FIGMENT & DREAMFINDER ARE BACK! — Journey Into Imagination at EPCOT is getting a complete reimagining, and YES… Dreamfinder and Figment will be part of it.
SPACESHIP EARTH — EPCOT’s iconic attraction will also receive a reimagining, expanding its story of human communication into a broader celebration of human connection.
DISNEYLAND RESORT
TOMORROWLAND IS GETTING A MAKEOVER — Disneyland’s Tomorrowland will be reimagined with new attractions, open spaces and a renewed focus on innovation, optimism and the future.
COCO IS COMING! — Disneyland’s new Coco attraction will take guests on a musical journey with Miguel through the Land of the Dead. And there’s NO height requirement!
Plus, beloved nighttime entertainment like Remember… Dreams Come True and World of Color will return in refreshed forms in 2027.
DISNEY CRUISE LINE
DISNEY BELIEVE — The newest Wish-class ship will set sail in late 2027! We got our first look at her Grand Hall, inspired by Moana, plus stunning exterior details featuring Woody & Buzz and Tinker Bell.
A BRAND-NEW CLASS OF SHIPS — Disney Cruise Line also gave us our FIRST look at an entirely new class of ships arriving beginning in 2029. Three ships are planned, and they’ll be bigger than the Disney Wonder but smaller than the Disney Wish — a size Disney says will open up new possibilities for destinations and itineraries around the world.
And this is just scratching the surface.
Disney is clearly entering a HUGE new era of expansion, and as a travel advisor, I'm already thinking about which of these new experiences I can’t wait to help our clients experience first!
