Lake Cascade Recreation Area is nestled in the majestic mountains of West- To the east lies Tamarack and West Mountain. Welcome.

Lake Cascade Recreation Area (LCRA) is nestled in the majestic mountains of West- Central Idaho. Seventy-five miles south lies Boise, one of the major accesses to the area. To the north is McCall which connects both to Lewiston and Ontario, Oregon, the other two major accesses to the area. Traveling east takes you to the Warm Lake area and then on to the magnificent Frank Church River of No-Return

Wilderness Area. LCRA is a sportsman’s haven offering year-round outdoor sports and recreation opportunities. 20 miles long, 5 miles wide and with 110 miles of shoreline, Lake Cascade is the 4th largest lake in Idaho and is undoubtedly the crown jewel of LCRA. Every season opens up to a series of fun and exciting adventure for guests of all ages. There is always something to see and do, or if you would prefer to relax and rejuvenate, there is no better place to come than Idaho. During the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons there are a myriad of hiking trails to experience. There is boating, water-skiing, jet-skiing, kayaking, whitewater adventure, golfing, biking, camping, fishing, hunting, and trail rides by horseback. With Winter there is incredible snowmobiling. Lake Casacade Recreation Area (LCRA) is rated one of the top 10 “Places to Snowmobile” in the Northwest by SnoWest Magazine. There are literally thousands of miles of trails with varied terrain to ensure that riders of all abilities will find something that best suits them. The skiing and snowboarding at Tamarack Resort is outstanding and Nordic skiing, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing is literally out your back door. For the fishing enthusiast, ice-fishing on Lake Cascade is both very popular and productive. For pure relaxation there are amazing natural hot springs dotted throughout the area. A unique family experience is to go elk feeding during a sleigh ride. Throughout all four seasons, there is always wildlife to view, hot springing, mountaineering/climbing, hunting, fishing, backcountry flights, and self-guided auto tours. Venture out in any direction. There are millions of acres of unspoiled mountainous areas, rivers and glens to be discovered. Come enjoy LCRA any time of year. Valley County offers a premier mountain biking experience with access to hundreds of miles of scenic trails suitable for all skill levels.

Local organizations, including the Central Idaho Mountain Biking Association (CIMBA), continue to expand and maintain trail access, creating opportunities for riders to explore new terrain year after year.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, riders are encouraged to:
- Check current conditions using the Payette National Forest Trail Status Map
- Contact the appropriate Ranger District Office for the latest updates
- Wear appropriate safety gear and ride within personal ability levels
- Observe trail signage, closures, and seasonal regulations

SBA Relief Still Available to Idaho Small Businesses and Private Nonprofits Affected by Wildfires Deadline to apply for economic injury loans July 7th, 2025. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations in Idaho of the July 7, 2025 deadline to apply for low interest federal disaster loans to offset economic losses caused by the wildfires, including the Bench Lake and Wapiti fires beginning July 11, 2024. The disaster declaration covers the Idaho counties of Blaine, Boise, Butte, Custer, Elmore, Lemhi and Valley. SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries and private nonprofit (PNP)organizations impacted by financial losses directly related to this disaster. The SBA is unable to provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers, or ranchers, except for aquaculture enterprises. To apply online, visit sba.gov/disaster. Summer 2025 Cascade Arts Walk On Main Street Going On Now Through Summer. The Art walk will feature ten, 24” wooden herons displayed on the podiums throughout downtown Cascade. Artists will earn a commission from their pieces via auction at the end of the summer season. Details here.

A fun-filled afternoon on the green designed to honor dads, bring families and friends together, and raise funds to support local community efforts through the Cascade Chamber of Commerce. June 21st - 8th Annual Interactive Arts Festival, Armstrong Park, 11am-5pm. Come and enjoy good food, music, and interactive art and educational booths! Artists will be selling their creative pieces and demonstrating their crafts. Vendors: Be sure to sign up for a booth space. Booths are $35 for a 12’x12’ space. Open to all ages and all types of arts – culinary, healing, visual, musical, and more! Be willing to be interactive with your art, whether it is demonstrating your trade, providing an educational handout, or having something for your patrons to do when they visit your booth.
