Not our typical content, but wanted to share a heroic moment from phenomenal guide, Adam Litwhiler! Adam spotted a smoldering tree from a lightning strike while on tour today, and with the combined effort of his guests, was able to get the fire extinguished before it was able to potentially spread. With how dry it is in Colorado this year, we are sure grateful he was in the right place at the right time. TCS and NFS will continue checking back on the area for the next 3-5 days to ensure it won’t have the opportunity to reignite. Thank you to Adam, and the McDonald and Richardson parties for helping protect our National Forests. Thank you to NFS Fire teams and Teller County Sheriff’s Department for keeping us safe and keeping our lands accessible. We applaud you for your stewardship, and quick response! 🔥🧯🌲
