Join us Wednesday, June 3rd for our Catch Rate Youth Night, presented by the Colorado Wildlife Council!

This is one of our favorite events of the year and the perfect way to kick off summer vacation with family, friends, and some friendly fishing competition!

🎣 We know not everyone agrees with the Pike Management Tournament, and that’s okay. We love chasing Pike at Spinney too.

The reality is that fisheries sometimes need management to maintain balance, and right now CPW has documented an overabundance of Northern Pike and declining Trout numbers in the reservoir.

This video isn’t meant to change everyone’s mind, it’s simply an opportunity to hear directly from Colorado Parks and Wildlife about why they’re taking this approach and what they hope to accomplish.

💥 PIKE MANAGEMENT TOURNAMENT 💥

This is Nate Zelinsky with Tightline Outdoors!

I’ve been a guide on Spinney Mountain Reservoir since 2001 and have fished it even longer. I built my life and business around Pike, so this is a touchy subject, but overall it’s the best option and the best outcome for Spinney and the future of trophy Pike.
I’ve been heavy involved with this project since the beginning. Restoring balance is tough and there are a few options. Some options involve netting and shocking which kills all fish including the large fish. With this method it focuses on the smaller 32” and less fish which are the issue. I can tell you from my involvement, this is the best option with the best outcome and we would actually love everyones support on this and look forward to a great future at Spinney Mountain Reservoir.

🇺🇸🎣 This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Because of their courage and selflessness, we have the freedom to enjoy days on the water, time with our families, and the outdoor traditions we hold so dear.

As you spend time with loved ones this weekend, take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything in service to our nation.

From all of us at Tightline Outdoors, thank you to the heroes who never came home and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

🎣💙 Trips like this are what it's all about.

Matt Endsley recently spent the day on the water with a father and his sons, and the results were incredible—over 50 fish caught and a live well full of keeper walleyes! 🐟🔥

As guides, we love catching fish, but what excites us even more is seeing young anglers light up every time a rod bends. Those moments are how traditions are built, memories are made, and the next generation of fishermen is inspired.

The future of fishing is bright when kids are spending their days on the water instead of staring at screens, learning from their families, and creating stories they'll tell for years to come.

🎣🔥 What a night for the Beat Nate in Bass Catch Rate Event! 🔥🎣

The weather held out, the fish cooperated, and we had an awesome evening on the water with plenty of bass, walleye, and trout submitted throughout the event.

As for the Beat Nate Challenge... Nate gave it his best shot 😎🐟 but it turns out the young guns had other plans.

🏆 15-year-old Cody Hales took the top spot with an impressive 18.25" bass, earning the title of Beat Nate Champion.

🥈 And to make matters even better, another 15-year-old angler, Rowan Goring, landed the second-place bass and also finished ahead of Nate.

We couldn't be more excited to see these talented young anglers succeeding on the water. This is exactly what these events are all about—getting more people involved in fishing and helping the next generation of anglers carry the tradition forward. The future of our sport is looking bright! 👏🎣

A huge thank you to The Colorado Wildlife Council for providing pizza and drinks after the event, and to Eagle Claw Fishing for the incredible prize packages that were awarded to our participants.

Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to everyone who came out and made it another great Catch Rate event!
