We're excited to announce a new Quiet Room opened on Monday, March 14 in Universal Studios Florida. 🌍

To further help our Guests with cognitive disabilities, our Guest Safety & Accessibility team worked alongside our Creative team to create this new Quiet Room, which will provide a safe, quiet, low-stimulation space that will allow Guests to take a break from the noise and crowds of our theme park. The room is equipped with rubber floor tiles, an activity wall panel, and two hiding tunnels to help alleviate sensory overload and regain a sense of calm. 🔊

This Quiet Room is located at the front of the park to the right of the Studio Audience Center and Lost and Found, and its operating hours will match USF’s park hours. Guests will not be required to reserve the room, however they will need to wait until the room is vacant to use and will be encouraged to adhere to a thirty (30) minute time limit. ⏳

One of my favorite memories is of the grand opening of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. In June of 2019 my oldest son and I set out for what I was sure was going to be a very chaotic adventure of our own. We arrived a couple days early and enjoyed park time. We knew opening day was going to be dedicated to the new ride. After speaking to a team member, we knew that we needed to be up early. Like, almost no sleep early. We were in line for security by 4:00 am. This was line one.

Once security was given the go ahead to open the gates to City Walk, we arrived into line 2. We were the first in our line and we could not have been more excited. Eventually a team member arrived to let us know that they were going to be letting the first 10 people in from each line. We would be getting an up-close look at the official unveiling and some of our favorite cast members!

People. When it came time the unthinkable happened. Our scanner for our line would not work! Now, we were first in line and it was the line with the clearest straight shot in and my son is tall and walks fast. We knew we were going to be one of the first people on the ride and then we ended up being part of the last 10 in. The line next to us had their first 10 scanned and while we waited for the team member to get to us.

No fear though. We were still super lucky to be a part of the first 200 in as we made it to line 3. It was incredible. It was so fun to see the cast and the special effects up close.

Next, we headed to line 4. First stop, the lockers and then we finally made it to the ride queue. We were like little kids about to meet Santa just smiling from ear to ear. The details in the queue are perfect. From the golden egg to the Monster Book of Monsters and Hagrid’s massive gloves, you are just immersed.

The ride itself quickly became a favorite. For the record I am TERRIFIED of coasters. The only reason I was able to ride this ride is simple. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and I needed to experience it. Full disclosure. I did breathing exercises during the ride that I learned to help combat the anxiety I knew I would feel. Works every single time. I cannot tell you how many times I have ridden it to date.

I’m not going to spoil the ins and outs of the ride itself. Everyone needs to experience that firsthand. I will say that after 4 lines and 5 hours it was absolute perfection!
