Here are 3 places in Cedar City & Parowan that are perfect for a Memorial Day visit:

Veteran's Memorial Park
Parowan Historic Cemetery
Cedar City Cemetery.

✨The trails and recreation areas around us are a great spot for a quiet walk through nature. We recommend the paved Coal Creek trail for views of Cedar Canyon and accessibility for the entire family.

Are you visiting Zion National Park this weekend? , pack your patience, and be kind 🫢 It's a busy weekend for Zion, but the park is still spectacular!

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!

Park rangers in Zion are gearing up for a busy Memorial Day weekend, and you should be too.

Last year the park recorded 92,000 visits during the Friday to Monday stretch of the holiday weekend. That's more than the annual visitation of over 150 NPS sites! With a lot of people excited to experience our public lands, here's what you need to know to plan ahead and prepare for a happy and healthy visit.

Expect limited parking and long entrance lines. Parking fills up, so much so that later in the morning when thousands of people are trying to circle around a full parking lot to find a nonexistent space, the park may temporarily close the south and east vehicle entrances to prevent congestion for shuttles. Parking is available in the town of Springdale, and you can take the free Springdale shuttle to the pedestrian entrance. Just make sure to bring your park pass or you'll have to pay for one there.

Check conditions before you go! It's gonna be hot, rocky, and busy. This can be a recipe for injuries and heat related illnesses, so make sure to check the weather and the difficulty of hikes before you head out. And be sure to take your time, take breaks, and bring a gallon of water and salty snacks for each person.

Expect many people to be enjoying the park with you. This is not the weekend for a secluded experience. You get to experience this amazing park with people from around the world! This is a shared experience, so may sure that you anticipate the busyness when you visit.

All in all, pack your patience, and we look forward to seeing you in the park!

We're looking forward to a busy weekend in Cedar City and Parowan!

From a big bike race (welcome Belgian Waffle Ride!) to the return of popular farm breakfast events (Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard + Red Acre Farm CSA) and Memorial Day Recognitions on Monday, there's a lot going on.

Find the right event to add to your schedule, and enjoy the weekend!

We love Cedar Breaks, and we know your visitors do too 🧑 So, what do you need to know about planning your visit? We've got you covered with some FAQ about our favorite national monument!

πŸš— Is the road open? Yes! Thanks to the hard work of the UDOT crews, Hwy 148 (connecting Hwy 14 to Hwy 143) is OPEN πŸ₯³

πŸ₯Ύ When can we hike? It depends on the trail and the trail conditions. Cedar Breaks normally opens Memorial Day Weekend, but give Cedar Breaks National Monument a follow to see what trails are open that weekend!

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ What about the Visitor Center? The park staff is working hard to open the monument by their goal of Memorial Day Weekend.

⛺️ When can we camp at Point Supreme Campground? The campground opens for reservations on June 19th! You can reserve your spot online at recreation.gov
