And that even extends to capturing the memories while you’re there.
Did you know that when you purchase your Disneyland tickets, you can also add Lightning Lane options—and with a Lightning Lane purchases, Disneyland’s PhotoPass is included at no additional cost? 📸🏰
PhotoPass can be such a great option for families because it makes getting those classic Disneyland photos SO easy. Think photos in front of the castle, at the train station, on Main Street…without having to constantly stop and ask someone to take a picture of the whole family.
And the PhotoPass photographers don’t just take the standard posed photos either. They’ll often add a little Disney magic with fun effects and surprises—like balloons, Tinker Bell and more! 🎈🧚‍♀️

Now that you’ve seen all of our Alaska ports, let’s talk about the ship that got us there—Norwegian Encore
There is so much to do onboard that we’re breaking it into two posts.

🍽️ So many dining options
Norwegian Encore offers three complimentary main dining rooms plus The Local and the American Diner, along with seven specialty restaurants. We tried four specialty restaurants during our cruise, and our favorites were Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki. And don’t skip the complimentary chicken wings from The Local—they were the perfect late-night snack!
🎭 Encore Theater
The theater hosts incredible entertainment throughout the cruise, including Choir of Man, Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal, the Newlywed Game, Alaska presentations, and the crew talent show. If you’re sailing on Encore, Choir of Man is a must-see!
🎸 The Cavern Club
Inspired by the famous Liverpool club where The Beatles got their start, this intimate venue features multiple performances by the Beatles Invasion tribute band. The atmosphere was fantastic!
🍹 Bars & Lounges
Whether you’re looking for a cocktail, w**e, wh***ey, b**r, or live entertainment, Encore has something for everyone. Some favorites include:

Last Stop in Alaska: Ketchikan 🌲
Here are my top recommendations:

🚙 Get outside of town
We chose the UTV & Craft B**r excursion, and it was a 10/10 experience! We’re so glad we got out of the port area and into the beautiful Tongass National Forest. We stopped to pick fresh berries, took a short hike to a peaceful lake, switched drivers, and enjoyed some incredible scenery along the way. It was one of our favorite excursions of the trip!
🦀 🍺 Enjoy fresh local seafood
Our excursion ended at the Historic George Inlet Lodge, where we sampled a craft b**r flight from Alaskan Brewing Company and enjoyed some of the freshest Dungeness crab we’ve ever had. Such a fun way to experience local flavors!
🏘️ Walk along Creek Street
Creek Street is Ketchikan’s famous boardwalk built on stilts over the creek. Once the city’s red-light district, it’s now home to local shops, restaurants, and Dolly’s House Museum.
🎣 Go salmon fishing
Ketchikan is known as the Salmon Capital of the World. One excursion I’d love to try next time lets you catch your own salmon before it’s cooked over an open fire at a local camp.
🪵 Totem Poles & Lumberjack Show
These are two of Ketchikan’s most popular family-friendly attractions and a great way to experience the town’s culture and history.
