If you've been around for a while, you know I always recommend flying in at least 1-2 days before a cruise. Because this cruise was out of Port Canaveral (approximately 1 hour from Orlando), we decided to spend a few days at one of our favorite places on Earth! We enjoyed two park days and stayed at Disney's Riviera Resort. It was a great way to kick off vacation knowing we there and ready to enjoy the main attraction of the trip.

If there was anything I didn’t cover about our last cruise that you’re curious about, please comment below and I’ll be sure to answer it as best I can! And, if you are interested in booking an upcoming Disney Cruise, Disney World, Disney World, Disneyland Paris, and/or Universal trip, please send me a message and I'd love to help!

I think we picked a great stateroom on our cruise! We were on Deck 6 Aft Starboard in a Verandah stateroom very close to midship and the elevators and stairs. We like to stay on Deck 6 when we can because it's easy (and less stairs) to get to the main decks on Deck 3 and 4 (Edge was on Deck 5 which is where Adelyn went for her kids club). Most of the restaurants on this ship were in Aft as well (the back of the ship), so we never had to walk far for those. Lastly, we felt that Aft had less movement than the Forward part of the ship, which we experienced when visiting the spa. We try to go for Mid-Ship when we can, but Aft is our second choice!

Don’t forget to bring magnets to decorate your door with! The girls received these magnets for Christmas, and it was a fun touch to the room.

When booking your Disney Cruise, I always remind my clients of important dates: final payment date, when you can book excursions and activities, and when you can complete online check-in (this is when you are assigned a Port Arrival Time). Tip: The booking windows open at 12 am EST on the assigned day, which is 11 pm CST (the night before). The earlier you can login, the better options you might have!

I also recommend adding trip insurance and pre-paid gratuities to your cruise package.

The add-ons that my family and I usually select are spa services and the photo package. I get asked occasionally if the photo package is worth it, and for us, it definitely is! We come home with hundreds of professional pictures each trip, so we always add it on! We also select our excursions in advance to ensure we enjoy the experiences we are most interested in at each stop (as well as start times).

Can you really go on a cruise without talking about the food?! This cruise had 3 restaurants included in the rotational dining experience - Marvel, Coco, and 1923. Rotational dining is unique to Disney Cruise Line where the serving team follows you to each restaurant each night to give you a more personalized experience; they greeted us by our names and knew our drink orders after the first couple of days. The serving team is one of the hardest working groups on a Disney cruise!

I also can't forget about room service breakfast and snacks, the 15 Mickey bars we consumed (not exaggerating 😂), the bars/lounges, or the speciality dining experiences on board. Always ask when the churro waffles will be available (typically at least one morning on your cruise) - they are delicious!

Note: Most standard food is included in the cost of your cruise, including sodas. Some dining, coffees, drinks, and room service tips are not included.

The weather was nice outside this cruise, so we spent a lot of time on the pool deck. It was the kids' first time to ride the AquaMouse, which is a water coaster similar to the AquaDuck on other Disney ships but more interactive.

My husband and I purchased the Rainforest Pass for the length of the cruise, and it was the first time we enjoyed an outdoor Rainforest Room. I already miss this quiet, adults-only area with the comfiest oversized pool chairs.

When we weren't on the pool deck, the girls spent lots of time in the kids clubs. Ainsley (10) visited the Oceaneer Club, and Adelyn (11) spent her first time in Edge. They never wanted to leave!

Disney Cruises are known for their shows, and they did not disappoint! The first show we never miss is the Sail Away Party, and in my opinion, the Wish class of ships has the best show (Let's Set Sail). There were also 3 broadway style shows offered on the Disney Treasure - Seas the Adventure, Moana, and Beauty and the Beast. Lastly, did you know that if a Disney movie is in theaters, you can see it for free on a Disney cruise? We watched Hoppers one morning in one of two theaters on board.

“We have 999 happy haunts here, but there's room for a thousand. Any volunteers?” The Haunted Mansion Parlor was one of our favorite spots on the Disney Treasure! We love this attraction at the theme parks (and most of our Halloween decorations are themed Haunted Mansion and Mickey pumpkins). We really enjoyed the ambience and drinks, and they offered a couple of photopass opportunities throughout the cruise that we took part in. Hopefully a hitchhiking ghost didn't follow us home!

In the running world, today is Medal Monday so I have to spotlight our medal haul from our cruise! I may not know a lot of things, but if you ever need a Disney trivia partner, I'm your girl. 😂

My daughters and I also ran their very first Disney race, the Castaway Cay 5K! This race was very special because (1) it was their first Disney run, (2) it was my oldest's first 5K ever, and (3) if you know my oldest and her medical history, you know how far she's come to be able to do this. This is one of the reasons why Disney is so special to us (her first birthday celebration trip was to Disney, and we were hooked from there); we have so many memories with our family at Disney, and this is a core memory that we'll be adding to the bank. ❤️

My family and I returned home yesterday from our cruise on one of Disney’s newest ships, the Disney Treasure! It was a beautiful ship, and this trip took one of our top spots as favorite cruises, ships, and trips. We sailed a 7-night Eastern Caribbean voyage to Tortola, St. Thomas, and Disney’s Castaway Cay. We've sailed this itinerary before (it's one of our favorites), and we enjoyed both the ports and the number of sea days because there was so much to see and do around the ship. Be sure to follow along this week as I recap some of our highlights!
