🎃 Bring the family and celebrate the 99th Centralia Halloween Parade & Fall Festival on Saturday, October 31, 2026!

Enjoy a day of activities in downtown Centralia, then return for the Halloween Parade at 7:00 pm! This year’s parade theme is “Patriotic Pumpkins.” 🇺🇸🎃

This fall weather is perfect for a little time on the trails at Centralia Foundation Park! 🍂 With miles of nature trails to explore, it’s a beautiful spot to clear your mind, go for a jog, or enjoy a walk with your four-legged friend. 🐾

At Laura Leake Park, the “Harlem Globetrotters of Centralia” mural honors five Centralia High School graduates who went on to play for the Harlem Globetrotters: Bobby Joe Mason, Ken “Preacher” McBride, Fred Pearson, John Scott, and Jackie White.

Completed in June 2026, the mural wraps the utility building beside the park’s basketball court, bringing local sports history into the space where another generation can play.

The project began with the Centralia Juneteenth Committee, with historical research from the Centralia Area Historical Museum helping bring these five athletes’ stories together. Malaya Downey of the Juneteenth Committee at the time requested local artist Jamie Allen of Studio Bee to complete the mural. In an effort to make this a community-focused mural, Allen then asked local artists Alex Hyer, Emily Haake, and Brandon Smith to help bring her vision to life. A community paint day was scheduled in the middle of installation, inviting all ages to add handprints to the north wall to visually represent a community united.

Financial support came from Monken Automotive, the Monken Family, Land of Lincoln Credit Union, Centralia Juneteenth Committee, Centralia Business and Professional Women, City of Centralia, and the The Greater Centralia Chamber of Commerce's Balloon Fest Image Fund.

Together, their contributions created a lasting place to recognize Centralia’s basketball legacy.

A familiar favorite is back open in Centralia! McGuire's reopens TODAY-Wednesday, October 14.

Take a look at the opening menu in the photos as you plan your visit! They’re starting with a smaller menu as the team settles in, with plans to bring back some additional favorites over time.

The restaurant has asked to please allow a little extra time during these first few weeks and offer the crew some patience as they get comfortable in their new space. Let’s be sure to give McGuire’s a warm welcome back! ❤️

THIS SATURDAY, October 10, Suds Fest will be in Historic Downtown Centralia. It will host multiple breweries and home brewers from all over southern Illinois from 2:00pm - 7:00pm.

Along with the brews, there will be a live band, some vendors, stein holding competition, and more!

***This is a FREE event. HOWEVER, to taste all of the competition breweries and brewers, you MUST purchase a ticket**** Purchasing a ticket is the only way to taste the competition brews.

So come on out, listen to the live music in the street, enjoy the atmosphere, and support the local businesses that will be open during this event! 🍻

"Centralia House of Spirits" is a new dinner theater experience being held at the Centralia House Restaurant. Two weekends, four chances to catch dinner, a theater show, and music.

📅 October 22 & 23

One night out: cocktail, 4-course prix fixe dinner, "Centralia House of Spirits", and live music. $75 per person. Dress up is optional, but there is no required attire.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Centralia Cultural Society in support of the Little Theatre Players who will be supporting us with their talents.

Tables are limited. Tell them which night you plan to attend. Show starts at 7:30pm, seating and cocktail hour starting at 6:30pm.
