Just like that, another Centralia summer is in the books. 💛 And what a summer it was.

We danced in the streets of Downtown Centralia during six Saturdays of the free Downtown Summer Concert Series. We welcomed Great White, Slaughter, Quiet Riot, Travis Tritt, Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, Deana Carter and even more established and rising artists to the lakeside stage at Castle Ridge.

We spent Saturday mornings shopping from local vendors at the Centralia Farmers Market and summer evenings listening to the bells of the Centralia Carillon. We celebrated America’s 250th birthday with a parade, carnival, car show, and various other activities.

Then, we watched hot-air balloons glowing at Fairview Park as one of the largest crowds came together for the 37th Annual Centralia Balloon Fest. 🔥

Sometimes, it’s easy to say there is “nothing to do” in a small town. But when we stop and look back at everything that happened here in just a few short months, we see a different story.

These events didn’t happen on their own. Thank you to everyone who organized an event, volunteered behind the scenes, sponsored the fun, performed on our stages, or simply showed up and enjoyed it. 💓

Thanks for the memories, Centralia. We had a pretty great summer. ✌️

History comes to life at Elmwood Cemetery September 10–13! 👻

During Elmwood Speaks, local actors portray eight real people buried at Elmwood Cemetery and share the stories of their lives, contributions and connections to Centralia. Guests will begin at the Centralia Cultural Society before being transported to the cemetery, where golf carts will take them from one historical figure to the next.

Now in its 15th year, Elmwood Speaks is one of the Centralia Cultural Society’s most popular annual events!

📅 September 10, 11, 12 & 13
🎟️ Tickets: $20 per person
📍 Tours begin at the Centralia Cultural Society, 1250 E. Rexford
☔ In case of rain, performances will be held inside the Cultural Society.

When Oisin arrived in Centralia a month ago today, I asked him about the different types of music that have inspired him over the years. When I asked about country music, Dolly Parton was the only name he said. "Dolly's music is proper county music, if you ask me" was his reply. He also said that's the opinion of most Europeans when you talk about country music. During today's performance he will pay tribute to this country music icon and American legend. We hope to see you there.

On Saturday, August 22, they are hosting a party in the street! The road will be shut down on South Locust in front on their business for two live bands, a b**r tent, drink specials, and more! The event is free to enter. Visit their page for more details as it becomes available!

They recently extended their Sunday and Monday hours and are now open until 10:00 p.m. both nights. Plus, their kitchen stays open until 2:00 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday!

Located in Downtown Centralia, The Sporting House is a great place to catch a game, meet up with friends, or sit down for burgers, wings, sandwiches and other comfort-food favorites.

Crooked Creek Winery offers good food, local w**e, and a peaceful afternoon in the country.🍷 It's located just a few minutes from Centralia!

Crooked Creek Winery also hosts Farmstand 161 at the located. Farmstand 161 serves artisanal takes on rustic, feel-good food inspired by the owners’ travels through Italy and California. Much of the menu is made from scratch, including their focaccia, pizza dough and whipped ricotta, with fresh ingredients harvested from their gardens or sourced locally whenever possible.
