D23 2026: HORIZONS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! ✨🏰
Okay Disney friends… WHAT. A. NIGHT. 🤯
Tonight’s **Horizons: A Carousel of Progress** showcase at D23 was packed with updates, first looks, returning favorites and a few announcements that had me screaming at my screen! Since there was SO much to take in, here’s the Disney Parks rundown you need to know! 👇
🏰 **WALT DISNEY WORLD**
✨ **The Yeti is COMING BACK TO LIFE!**
Yes, you read that right! The legendary Yeti Audio-Animatronic inside Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom will be restored to its original full-motion glory! After years of the “Disco Yeti,” this is one of the announcements I am personally VERY excited about! 🦧❄️
🏎️ **Piston Peak National Park**
We got more details on the massive new Cars expansion coming to Magic Kingdom, including the story and attractions coming to this new area.
👻 **Villains Land**
Disney gave us more of a look at the mysterious and twisted world planned for Magic Kingdom. The land is taking shape, with a dark forest setting and some seriously creepy Disney Villains inspiration. And yes… Disney is still teasing us with this one! 😈
👹 **Monstropolis**
Hollywood Studios’ upcoming Monsters, Inc. land continues to take shape, with more looks at the immersive area, attractions, dining and entertainment planned for the land.
🌎 **Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom**
The new **Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto** attraction finally has a name! The entire original Encanto voice cast recorded new dialogue for the attraction, which will take guests into Antonio’s world for a celebration with the Madrigal family. 🦋✨
🎠 **El Carrusel de los Animalitos**
A brand-new carousel is coming to Tropical Americas featuring more than 20 Disney animal characters, including Simba, Bambi, Kevin, Meeko, Pua, Heimlich, Kuzco, Sq**rt and MORE! 🐾
🐍 **Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent**
We got a much bigger look at the new Indiana Jones attraction coming to Animal Kingdom! The adventure is set in 1950 and will take guests into an ancient temple and eventually into an underground world filled with giant bats, scorpions and a massive mythical serpent.
AND THEN…
**HARRISON FORD WALKED ON STAGE.** 😱
He will actually serve as the model for the Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronic in the attraction!
🚀 **Spaceship Earth is getting a new story!**
For the first time in nearly 20 years, Spaceship Earth will receive a major story update. The attraction will shift its focus from communication toward **human connection**, while still celebrating humanity’s progress through time. 🌎❤️
🎬 **The Carousel of Progress is getting updated!**
The classic attraction will return in **late spring 2027**, with Disney Legends Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston taking on the iconic roles of Mom and Dad.
📺 **The Imagineering Story Season 2 is happening!**
Leslie Iwerks announced a second season of the beloved Disney+ documentary series, coming in **early 2028**! Give me ALL the behind-the-scenes Imagineering magic! 🥹
🏰 **DISNEYLAND RESORT**
🎉 **Magic Happens is coming BACK!**
Disneyland’s “Calling All Dreamers” celebration will welcome back the fan-favorite **Magic Happens** parade! ✨
🦸♀️ **AVENGERS CAMPUS IS GETTING TWO NEW ATTRACTIONS!**
**Avengers: Infinity Defense** and **Stark Flight Lab** are both officially scheduled to open in **2028**!
Infinity Defense will recruit guests as new Avengers recruits, with Ms. Marvel kicking off the mission. You’ll travel to places including Wakanda, Asgard and New York City and come face-to-face with some VERY familiar Marvel heroes.
Stark Flight Lab will put guests into Avengers technology with Tony Stark, Captain Marvel and Captain America serving as your flight instructors!
And yes… the original Marvel stars are returning to provide performances for the attractions, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie and Jeremy Renner! 🤯
🌏 **DISNEY PARKS AROUND THE WORLD**
🚀 **Disneyland Paris**
Hyperspace Mountain will close in 2027 and be transformed back into a Jules Verne-inspired **Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune**, complete with its original soundtrack!
🚀 **Tokyo Disneyland**
Space Mountain is also getting a major transformation into **Space Mountain: Earthrise**, featuring a new launch sequence that will make guests feel like they're blasting off into space!
🕷️ **Shanghai Disney Resort**
Disney is moving forward with its first land completely dedicated to Spider-Man, featuring the Shanghai WEB Brigade and new interactive technology.
🇭🇰 **Hong Kong Disneyland**
Stark Expo is expanding with a new Quinjet landing platform and more Avengers storytelling, including a massive new Avengers Research Lab experience.
🌟 And of course, Disney also highlighted the enormous number of projects happening around the world, including the upcoming **Disneyland Abu Dhabi Resort** and the continued expansion of Disney Cruise Line. 🚢✨
Honestly? There was something for EVERY kind of Disney fan tonight.
And as someone who absolutely loves following these projects from announcement → concept art → construction → OPENING DAY, I am already obsessed with what the next few years are going to look like! 🥹✨
