Today's boating tip is for our friends on jet skis! 🤙

Jet skis tend to have a bad reputation on the water, but when used properly they can be a fun and safe tool.

🦺 While aboard a jet ski, all occupants MUST wear a life jacket and the operator MUST use a kill switch safety lanyard. Jet skis must also have a fire extinguisher, sounding device and be properly registered.
🛑 Most jet skis do not have the ability to break. To stop on a jet ski, ease off the throttle and make a 90 degree turn away from any obstacles to slow yourself to a stop. Practice this method on the water when it's not crowded to ensure you know how to stop if needed.
👋 Always be courteous to others on the water. Keep a safe distance from swimmers, anglers and other vessels.
🌅 As a reminder, jet skis can only be operated between official sunrise and official sunset.
