Want a shot at winning two tickets to the Iowa Hawkeyes home game with Purdue on Nov. 14th? We're talking aisle seats with back rests 19 rows up - good seats! Come on down to Tellurian Brewing in Charles City on Wednesday, Sept. 16th, between 4-6 p.m., for "Chamber On Tap." This social event will feature, among other things, raffle chances for the football tickets, a Chucktoberfest Gift Basket, and a 50'50 raffle where you could win half the pot!

Sunday Funday! Looking for a fun activity for the whole family? The Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce has got one for you: a Glow Ball Mini Golf Tournament September 27th at Bayou Bend Mini Golf & Batting Cages. Put together your team(s) of four or more friends and family members to play a round of 18 mini golf holes using special glow in the dark balls. Play will begin at dusk that Sunday evening (6:50 p.m.). There will be prizes, door prize drawings and gift bags for the kids. Cost to participate is $25 per team of four – all ages welcome! If you want to play with more than four to a team, it is $5 per extra person, and you will submit your best four scores.

YOU'RE INVITED! Join the Chamber for a free drink, a chance to win Iowa football tickets or other raffle prizes, and enjoy socializing and networking with your fellow Chamber members at a special "Chamber On Tap" gathering this Wednesday, Sept. 16th, between 4-6 p.m. at Tellurian Brewing in Charles City.

This come-and-go as you please event will serve as the annual meeting of the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce, but there will be very little "business" and more just meeting everyone, including the Chamber Board members and staff. Information on the Chamber will be available and we'll be happy to answer any questions. Most of all, though, it's about enjoying each other's company ... plus Tellurian's new kitchen will be open, so check that out!

The free drink offer is just for Chamber members, but everyone is welcome at this event.

Congratulations to the Edward Jones Team of Mark and Julie Sindlinger (pictured), and Jessie and Landon Schultz, who carded a 7-under 29 Thursday to capture the 2026 Chamber Golf Outing title at Wildwood Golf Course. A total of 17 teams participated in the 9-hole, 4-person best shot format hosted by the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Zoetis Team 2 comprised of Jeff Nehls, Tom Gallup, Carsen Gallup and Trevor White finished as runners-up with a 30, while the foursome from MidAmerican Energy of Kelly Miller, Carter Klem, Shawn Miller and Todd Einck took third place. They won a tie-breaker over Team Severin, made up of Lloyd Severin, Richard Stone, Bob Arringdale and Bruce Boerschel, after both teams finished at 31.

Tournament participants were challenged by a variety of course games, which included a Marshmallow Drive, putting with a hockey stick, and driving from one tee with a baseball bat.

ONE DAY AWAY! Come tantalize your tastebuds and help crown the 2026 Great Chili Cook-Off Champ on Friday, Sept. 11th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Club, 502 Clark St., in Charles City.

In addition to sampling 7 different chili recipes, you can also enjoy dessert from the Comet Cafe students at Charles City High School. This year's event theme is "Banking on the Best Chili in Town," and will feature representatives from financial agencies from around town.

Competitors include Elliott Gebel from Fidelity Bank & Trust, Jim Springer representing CUSB Bank, Brittany Marzen from First Citizens Bank, Carly Demro from First Security Bank & Trust, Jeremy Heyer from Edward Jones, independent financial advisor Bovic Muamba, and Jay Jung from Farm Bureau Financial Services.
