Unite Our Vote Block Party: Voter Empowerment Rally & Townhall on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 5 PM at 111 Cagle Street, near Unity Park.

The block party will also include:
Live Music by the Jamie Wright Band
Food Trucks featuring Moohogz, Wholey Smoke, Island Sun, Anetia’s, and Kinfolk Kitchen
DJ, Community Resources, and Family Fun

In response to the growing threats to affordable housing, Black history education, and diversity programs, community leaders are coming together to say enough is enough. Pastors United for Action, in partnership with Parish House and a coalition of civic and faith-based organizations, will host this event.

This powerful community gathering will feature a townhall with U.S. Congressmen Ro Khanna and Jonathan Jackson, offering a rare opportunity for local residents to engage directly with national leaders on the critical issues affecting Greenville and communities across the country.

We are only a few days away from The Greenville Reggae Block Party

Thank you all so much for your support so far! We really appreciate it.

There have been several questions to what you can and cannot bring.

Chairs are ok but this is a Block Party. So space will be limited for you to place your chair.

No Outside coolers or alcohol. We will have 2 cash bars( serving beer, wine, and a rum punch we are keeping it light because kids will be present )and Tipsy Trails Taps will have some local favorites (beer and wine)

You will need to see our staff at our tent designated for your wristbands and to have your id checked.

We will have Goldsmith Street completely blocked off starting at the intersection of Pointsette Hwy, this is where our vendors will be selling artwork, beauty products, jewelry and etc.

We will have speakers so the music from our DJ and Mystic Vibrations will be heard on Goldsmith Street as well.

Our food and beverage vendors will behind the Pavilion.

Update: I learned my poem has rotated out, but I highly recommend adding Mitchelville to your must-visit list!

Hey SC vacationers, if you visit Hilton Head Island, stop by Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park, where you'll find my stop (plaque) on the HHI Poetry Trail near the Toni Morrison, A Bench by the Road.

Click on the QR code on the left-hand side to go to the poem which features the Harriet Tubman - The Journey To Freedom sculpture that is currently on site!

Our Story

SC African American Tourism Conference and Think Tank October 5, 2019 Beatty Center, College of Charleston Registration Fee: $50 Early Bird Registration We are proud to announce our 7th annual conference focusing on the growth of the African- American niche of the Tourism Industry in South Carolina. Charleston’s Tourism Industry generates $20 Billion dollars for the State's economy. How can this niche grow this economic impact? The purpose is two fold: 1) Educate Tourism Industry officials about the benefits of supporting and promoting this niche, and 2) Educate residents, businesses, and elected officials from historically disadvantaged communities about the resources available to for businesses & non-profits servicing this industry.
