We had a beautiful flight to end Carolina BalloonFest!!! Excellent views, amazing crew, awesome friendly folks to help us pack up.

The winds were a bit squirrelly, and choosing not to fly was absolutely not a bad call, especially for folks with passengers.
In our smaller competition balloon and solo, we can push the limits a bit further while still being safe.

Thanks again to Animal Hospital on South Main / Animal Hospital of Statesville for your sponsorship! Also to everyone in Statesville NC for helping us make it a great weekend for our friends from out of town as well.

The high winds once again kept us grounded at Carolina BalloonFest, but we were able to stand up the balloon for over an hour answering questions and passing out cards and stickers. It’s going to be a beautiful day in Statesville NC, and we’re hopeful to try again this afternoon.

Special thanks to Animal Hospital of Statesville / Animal Hospital on South Main for your continued sponsorship!
We’re proud to be showing off your banner and be the last balloon standing! (other than the tether guys) 😎🐶🐈

Happy Saturday, friends. Although we were disappointed to not fly this morning, we were able to share Downtown Discover Statesville NC with our out-of-town friends! We started with a delicious breakfast at Gracie Rae's followed by delicious coffee from Lake Mountain Coffee Statesville. We ended our morning with a tour of the Statesville Historical Collection. The weather may not have been ideal, but the company and supporting local businesses was unmatched.

A pilot’s perspective- from Drew Egerton of Air-Olina Aviation

Hi everyone. I just want to pass along some thoughts from a pilots perspective that we also get really disappointed when the weather does not allow us to fly at events like Carolina BalloonFest.

Although we live in Statesville, many of our pilot friends travel from many states away for this. We look forward to flying every year and would MUCH rather be doing that than watching the wind or rain. However, the safety of our passengers, crew, and ourselves is the top priority.
So please keep in mind when you’re disappointed that we are too! And I promise we’ll do our best to fly if the weather allows for a SAFE flight!

In the meantime, we’ll make the best of the weekend and enjoy spending time exploring around Discover Statesville NC with our friends from out of town. Thanks for understanding!

We were bummed not to be able to fly this morning from Bobcat Company for the Carolina BalloonFest media flight. 😸
We were able to inflate the balloon for the employees and the interstate traffic, but the fog kept us ground. (See drone pic!)

Hoping this weather clears out for some more flying opportunities over Discover Statesville NC this weekend. We want to fly just as much as you guys want to see us!! 🔥🎈
