On this day 21st February 1995, American Steve Fossett, flying G-BVUO, a Cameron R-150 made the first solo flight across the Pacific and also broke the previous record for longest solo flight.

Fossett took off from Seoul, South Korea and landed near Saskatchewan, Canada on 21st February, a journey of 8748km. The flight took him 102 hours and 14 minutes.
