Exploring a new city can make for an incredible family trip. Here is why we think Chicago should be on your list to visit next as a family:
1. First, the obvious- there are kid friendly attractions abound. From Navy Pier to Lincoln Zoo, Millennium Park to Chicago Sports Museums the list of kid friendly attractions is long.
2. It's a little more manageable size wise compared to other large cities. Plus discovering the city as a family is easy on the budget, too: children under age 7 ride free on the L train and public buses, while those ages 7 to 11 pay a reduced fare.
3. It can be educational! If you want to visit during the school year you can go guilt free as the opportunity for your kiddos to learn through the Museum of Science and Industry, The Field Museum of Natural History or the Art Institute of Chicago (to name just a few) is an incredible experience as valuable as any classroom.
4. THE FOOD. Truth be told, food is always a top reason to visit a destination for Hooray Travel Day and Chicago is no different. From Chicago classics like deep dish pizza to fun themed restaurants like SafeHouse, Chicago’s super-secret, spy-themed restaurant, is packed with family fun, food, missions and even a “spycial” menu for junior spies, Chicago offers something for everyone- even picky kids!
