Blue Ridge Mountain Guides is seeking candidates for the roles of climbing Instructor, Guide, and NH Winter Guide at various locations. BRMG is an AMGA Accredited Business led by IFMGA Guide Grant Price that operates in VA, WV, NC, NH, NY, and WA.

Instructor
Location: VA
Required Credentials:
- AMGA SPI or higher
- Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT

Guide
Location: VA & WV
Required Credentials:
- AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide or higher
- Capable of passing the AMGA Rock Rescue Drill
- Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT

NH Winter Guide
Location: North Conway, NH
Required Credentials:
- AMGA Ice Instructor Course completion or higher
- Capable of passing the AMGA Rock Rescue Drill
- Capable of passing the A3 Pro 1 Avalanche Rescue Drill
- Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT

Ski, alpine, and AIARE avalanche course instruction work is additionally available for candidates with applicable credentials.

Compensation ranges between $145 and $382.50 per day based on position, experience, and AMGA credentials. Benefits include employment at an AMGA Accredited Business, seasonal in-house training and mentorship, and AIARE 1, Avalanche Rescue, and 2 courses.

Do these knots look familiar to you?

If knot, you may be in need of an intro to belay course! Luckily we are partnering with Grant from Blue Ridge Mountain Guides and hosting one tomorrow (Wednesday, June 10th) from 5:30p to 7:30p. We will be setting aside the auto-belay devices and teaching some old-school techniques. You will learn to belay a partner, how to tie some beginner knots and practice climbing, all free for members or to anyone with a day pass!

The Cascades of Washington state are a special place. Coniferous forests, glaciers, snowy volcanic peaks, granite ridge lines to summits, wildflowers, tarns, cascading streams and waterfalls. There’re a lot of small things that aren’t so small that make these mtns.

The devastation that Western N.C. and surrounding areas are facing is unbelievable. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by hurricane Helene. If you would like to assist the Carolina Climbers Coalition has compiled a list of channels to provide support.

Our hearts are broken at the destruction brought by Helene. We have received your messages asking how you can help. Thank you for reaching out and wanting to take positive action. At this time, unauthorized travel to these regions is irresponsible and could get in the way of emergency personnel. However, when the time is right, we will sound the alarm and rally our climbing community to aid in the recovery effort.

For now, we are sharing resources and suggestions for supporting the greater recovery efforts :
