For those patrons that enjoy books on CD know that our collection has just been increased by 15. These 15 were weeded from the shelves of the Brimfield library and donated to our library for our patrons to enjoy. Some of the authors of these works are: Janet Evanovich, Julie Garwood, Philippa Gregory, Linda Howard, Jonathon Kellerman, Catherine Coulter, Jeffery Deaver and Dean Koonz. They should grace our shelves by Friday.

This morning our toddler Tuesday group tried their tiny hands at water colors. They painted their concept of autumn leaves and best of all there were no water spills or paint splatters. It seems we may have some aspiring artists in our midst.

We are gearing up for our annual display featuring over 150 different Nutcrackers. This year beginning shortly after November 1st a few at a time will be on diplay. But the entire collection will be on display the week after Thanksgiving. Each year we marvel at the number of visitors who come to view our Nutcrackers. Our entire collection was a gift from Brianna Ringo one of our director's granddughters.

When the decorated bales are on display by the caboose later this month be sure to check out the two made by our after school groups. One will be made by the PreK - 1st grade group and the other by the 2nd - 6th graders. They are working extra hard on their designs in order to earn a pizza party complements of Mary. The photos show the older group hard at work.

During this past summer we had a fantastic turnout for our summer reading program. A number of children did not have library carrds and we did not wish to deprive them of the opportunity to read. However, the following fourteen books have not been returned and Mary will have to pay the $165 replacement costs for these items. Help her out and check to see if any of these books are collecting dust under a bed or some other "kid friendly" spot. The books are: The Maze of Bones, One False note, Sonic the Hedgehog, Big Tracks Little tracks, Animal Babies in Rain Forests, Fancy Nancy, Extreme Raiforest, What Can Live in a Rain Forest, What can Live in a Forest, Stranger Things #3, Face to Face With Sharks, Phoebe the Fashion Fairy, Dinosaurs After Dark and Sports Illustrated for Kids.

Our elementary and upper elementary after school group this past week painted their concept of an autumn tree. Each exhibited individual creativity. The one that appears as gray in the photo has an element that doesn't show on the screen. The paint is swirled and thickened in places to give this painting a 3D texture.
