Our Story

Founded in 2011, L2 outside Paddle Co, decided to use the beautiful waters surrounding Chattanooga, TN to become the nation's first inland stand up paddle board rental and retail company. Being a local company L2 Outside fits both the progressive spirit of Chattanooga and aligns with the outdoor vibe and adventure of the region.

We have always been surrounded by two things - water & adventure. Seth ( co-owner) whom is scuba certified has always been eager to push the limits of water exploration. Growing up in GA he was always eager to get outside and enjoy nature. Dirk, brother in law of Seth and other co-owner was first lured in Chattanooga back in 2007 to hang glide off the side of Lookout MT. The simple mission of Dirk and Seth, "two local guys" who have put their hearts and souls into building a small business is to allow others to share their love of the outdoors and support their own outdoor adventures with family and friends.

For the region Chattanooga has an uncommon spirit of innovation and a sense of entrepreneurism. "near perfect and near nature" is one way to describe the delicate balance that our city tries to flaunt. The local culture of Chattanooga has influences from all over, but it definitely has its own style and flavor. Fishing, boating, kayaking, and bridges; water is the epicenter of Chattanooga lifestle, which fits us perfectly. Chattanooga is a paddling boarding town!

Lets face it, work is hard - it can help if you're in an industry that you're passionate about. After leaving healthy tech careers, putting it all on the line co-owners Dirk & Seth have done everything to achieve the American dream and contribute to the local economy by being small business owners. L2 Outside is not just a business but a dream for the pair of brothers. Live life outside.
