Apparently, I’m a Swiss knife :)

That’s what two American clients of mine (who have since become friends) called me recently.

It came up because the husband wants to learn French.

“I can help you with that.”

Of course I can. 😂

Relocation. Real estate. French. Dutch. English. Community. And now yoga.

On paper, those things might look completely unrelated.

To me, they’re really not.

Because the part I love most about what I do has never just been finding someone a house.

It’s helping people feel at home in a life that isn’t theirs yet.

Sometimes that means figuring out schools and neighborhoods.
Sometimes it means explaining something in their own language.
Sometimes it means introducing people to each other.

And sometimes it means getting them onto a yoga mat.

I’ve been wondering whether yoga needs its own little box, separate from Atlantic Expats.

I don’t think it does.

Because for me, this is all about the same thing: community, wellbeing and belonging.

Maybe my clients were onto something.

A neighborhood can check every box and still not be the right one for you.

Because you’re not choosing a neighborhood on paper. You’re choosing your everyday life.

How far is school really? What does the commute feel like at 8am? Where do you get groceries? What happens when everyone needs to be somewhere at the same time?

Small details. But once you live here, they’re not small at all.

That’s usually where I step in.

It’s not about relocating. It’s about arriving.

There’s a moment when a place starts to feel less new.

You know which grocery store you like.
You recognize the streets.
You have your coffee place.
You stop thinking about how to get everywhere.

Nothing big happened.

Life just started to feel a little easier. A little more familiar. A little more yours.

That’s the part of relocation I care about most.

Because finding the house is only one piece of it.

It’s not about relocating. It’s about arriving.

Come alone. Or bring your people.

I’m keeping these retreats small on purpose: just six people at a time.

You can reserve a spot for yourself, come with a friend or partner, or bring your own group of six. Friends, colleagues, family, a team from work - women and men are all welcome.

And if you come as a private group, I can adapt parts of the retreat around your group.

A few days in Duck, Outer Banks. A beautiful big house, close to the ocean. A French cook will be joining us.

We’ll move, breathe, eat really well, sleep, get outside and slow down.

3 nights · 4 days · $985 per person

You can research a move for months and still arrive with a hundred questions.

Schools, utilities, banking, DMV, insurance, and all the little things you only discover once you’re actually here.

That’s the part I guide you through. Step by step, when it matters.

So you can spend less time figuring out how to live here, and more time actually living here.

It’s not about relocating. It’s about arriving.

New country. New systems. New everything.

Most people expect to feel excited when they arrive.

But often, it’s a mix of excitement and uncertainty.

You’re learning how everything works while trying to make everyday life feel normal again.

You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just in the middle of a transition.

And you don’t have to figure everything out at once.

A few days ago, I shared the dates for my upcoming retreats in the Outer Banks.

But there’s another way to come that I hadn’t really talked about yet:

Bring your own six.

Six friends.
Six colleagues.
Family.
Your people.

If you already have a group that would love a few days away together, I’m very open to making one of the retreats your private retreat.

And if a group comes together, I can adapt parts of the program around you. More yoga, more movement, more time outside, a particular focus for your team or group: we can make it fit the people who are actually coming.

The idea stays simple:
Relax. Eat. Move. Sleep. Repeat.

A few days in a beautiful house in Duck, North Carolina, where you don’t have to be anywhere else.

We’ll move. Breathe. Eat well. Sleep. Go outside. Slow down.

And I actually really love the idea of six people who already know each other taking over one of these weekends together 🤍

Most people start with the house. I usually start somewhere else.

How do you actually want to live here?

What should a normal weekday feel like? How far do you want to drive? What matters for the kids? Do you want to walk to coffee, be close to the water, have space, community, quiet?

Once we understand the life, finding the right place to live becomes much easier.

The house is part of the decision.
The life around it is the bigger one.

A house is only one part of the decision.

The streets you’ll drive every day.
Where you’ll get your coffee.
Where your kids might go to school.
The places that slowly become familiar.

Those things are much harder to see in a listing, but they’re often what determines whether a place actually works for you.

That’s why I never start with just the house.

I start with the life you’re going to live around it.

It’s not about relocating. It’s about arriving.

For a few days, you don’t have to be anywhere else.

No schedules to manage.
No meals to plan.
No rushing from one thing to the next.

We’ll move. We’ll breathe. We’ll eat really well. We’ll sleep. We’ll go outside.

And we’ll slow down.

I’m opening two very small retreats in Duck, Outer Banks, with just six people each.

December 3–6, 2026
January 7–10, 2027

Three nights, four days.
Your stay, all meals, daily yoga, movement and breathwork are included.

$985 per person.

This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about having a few days with less to respond to.

If this sounds like something you need, send me a message. 🤍
