We had a Fabulous trip to Alaska for our 45th Anniversary in May! We enjoyed seeing the amazing wildlife to include snow shoe hares, Orca whales, eagles, sea otters, moose, Ravens and many other wonderful birds. We did a cruise tour which was a three-day land portion prior to the 7-Day cruise with Princess Cruise line. They did not disappoint! We were set to go the minute we got off the plane in Fairbanks. We traveled from Fairbanks on a riverboat and also to Denali on motor coaches, had a tour of the Denali National Park, then took a wonderful observation train for 10 hours from Denali down to Whittier in order to catch our cruise ship. We sailed on the Discovery Princess and had a fabulous time. We met lots of wonderful people, had a balcony cabin and enjoyed seeing three different glaciers. We were able to actually take a tour and see Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, eagles and totem poles in Ketchikan. We thoroughly enjoyed standing on our balcony going through the Glacier Bay and seeing all the floating ice and crazy sea otters! We ended our trip in Vancouver and spent the day on a hop-on hop-off tour of the city. Had a fabulous time. If you've never been to Alaska, this is an absolute wonderful way to see it and I highly recommend doing the cruise tour land portion along with the cruise.
