A Sensational Solar Eclipse at Sea🌙 It’s more than a year away, but there’s one particular date on the minds of adventure travelers worldwide: August 12, 2026.

That’s when a rare total solar eclipse—when the moon moves between earth and the sun, completely obscuring the sun—will pass over the Arctic Ocean, Iceland, the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal, and northern Spain. 🌕

To experience this incredible spectacle, which will last for only two minutes and 18 seconds, it’s best to be in a location free of obstructions, disruptions, and light pollution. In other words, it’s best to be in the middle of the ocean. 🌊

A few cruise lines have designed itineraries around this eclipse, featuring luxurious journeys in eastern Greenland and the Mediterranean and inviting special guest astronomers onboard to discuss the rare cosmic phenomenon.
