Travel Advisor Truth!
I truly LOVE helping guests find and book their perfect vacations, and I take pride in finding the best fit & value for them, but to be honest:
This year has been a little disheartening because most people don't realize that unless a travel advisor charges a planning fee (I don't) they do not get paid for spending hours researching, putting together packages, checking multiple suppliers, quotes, answering questions, giving advice... when I spend so much time working so hard to build a custom trip and then clients don't respond or disappear, to a person who spends a lot of time on that research, it stings!
We only get paid IF a guest books through us and AFTER they have traveled.
Sometimes plans change or maybe the time isn't right...that's life and is completely understandable. All I ask is that you let me (or whoever you're working with) know!
I'm not Google, I'm a real person who truly wants to find the best value for you and there is no magic button that does that. It's time spent plugging in different dates, finding the best priced flights that don't have an 8 hour layover...OR only a 45 minute layover coming back into the country...cause guess what? After going through customs, you're not making that next flight! It's finding a resort that checks most or everything on your wish lists!
