JetBlue just pulled the ultimate power move. Hours after Spirit Airlines went dark, JetBlue swooped into South Florida with a full-blown rescue mission—and they're not playing small.

Here's the breakdown: $99 rescue fares for anyone holding a valid Spirit ticket. Same route, same dates, just call 1-800-JETBLUE. Flying Fort Lauderdale to San Juan? Blue Basic is capped at $299 through May 8.

But that's just the warm-up. JetBlue is exploding at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International—adding 11 brand new cities, extra flights on existing routes, and pushing nearly 130 daily departures this summer. That's a 75%+ jump from last year and their biggest FLL operation EVER.
CEO Joanna Geraghty put it plainly: "South Florida is a key market... we're stepping up, adding service, and keeping fares competitive." (Translation: we're taking over.)
Fun fact? Fort Lauderdale was JetBlue's very first destination back in 2000. Now they're reclaiming it after Spirit held 27% of that market.
Oh, and they're not leaving Spirit's crew behind either—jumpseat access for two weeks and job interviews for qualified staff.
This is how you turn a market collapse into a masterclass. 👇

The White House is sending ICE agents to airports nationwide starting March 23 as TSA staffing shortages continue to disrupt travel across the country.

Border czar Tom Homan confirmed the move, saying agents will help support airport operations by handling basic duties like ID checks and monitoring exits, allowing TSA officers to focus on critical screening.

The decision comes as tens of thousands of TSA workers remain unpaid during an ongoing Department of Homeland Security funding standoff, leading to staffing shortages, long security lines, and growing concerns about airport delays.

Officials say the goal is to speed up travel and relieve pressure on TSA, while critics question whether immigration agents are properly suited for the role.

Traveling to Paris will soon include one extra step for American visitors.

Starting in late 2026, travelers from the United States and other visa-free countries will need to apply for a new travel authorization called ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) before entering France or other countries in the Schengen area.

The system is similar to the ESTA authorization required to enter the United States. Travelers will complete a short online form before their trip, pay a small fee, and receive approval linked electronically to their passport.

Once approved, the authorization will usually remain valid for three years and will allow multiple visits to Europe, as long as each stay does not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period.

The European Union says the system is designed to improve border security by screening travelers before they arrive, while keeping travel visa-free for short tourist visits.

For now, nothing changes yet. ETIAS is expected to launch toward the end of 2026, and travelers will only need to apply once the system officially opens.

But if Paris is on your future travel plans, it’s a new step to keep in mind before your next trip.

They came for vacation. Then airspace closed and flights were cancelled. Instead of chaos, the UAE told every hotel: don't check them out. We're paying.

Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism sent a directive to every hotel in the emirate: extend stays for guests who can't leave and send us the invoice. Dubai issued a parallel order hours later. The reason? Airspace closures and mass flight cancellations across the Gulf left over 20,000 passengers stranded.

The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the state is covering all accommodation and meal costs for affected travelers. Private companies joined in too – holiday rental firms in Dubai opened apartments for free, and within hours, over 250 hosts followed.

No panic pricing. No airport floors. No "figure it out yourself." Just a government picking up the tab until every stranded tourist can go home. That's how you handle a crisis.
