As badly as you want to help others, if you're not in the position to help yourself then you're just wasting time. It makes more sense to offer helps to others when you are truly capable of helping them. Not when you are holding on my a thread yourself.
That will only cause you to break too and put both parties in a less favorable situation. The best way you can helps others is to fully and truly help yourself because then you can teach and inspire someone how to be better from your experience and by giving them all of you and not half.
