Sensational Discovery IN BULGARIA! The Oldest Sundial in The World Has Been Found, Between 5000 and 10,000 Years Old

Unique sundial, estimated to be older than 5000 years, has been discovered near the resort town of Mineralni Bani (Mineral Hot Springs). The Discovery is of global importance, as the only similar archeological find is located in Mexico. Though the Mexican sundial has only 5 steps, while the sundial from Mineralni Bani has 7 steps. The discovery was made by the film crew of Maya Vaptsarova while on location shooting a documentary.

Уникален слънчев часовник на повече от 5000 години беше открит в община Минерални бани. Откритието е от световен мащаб, тъй като единственият подобен досега часовник е намиран в Мексико. Той обаче се състои само от пет стъпала. Слънчевият часовник в Минерални бани е със 7 стъпала. На находката се натъкна екипът на Мая Вапцарова по време на снимки за документален филм.

Astronomers asked Maya Vaptsarova's film crew to measure every half an hour the shadow length and its direction. In its movement across the sky the sun travels 15 degrees in one hour at constant speed. If you use a watch, which represents the plane across which the Sun travels, it is easy to see and calculate these angles, say astronomers. Using a special sundial circle, taking into account the shift of Earth's axis over time, they calculated that the sun-clock is at least 5,000 years old. More accurate calculations may prove that its age is closer to 10,000 years. According to the astronomers this sundial is entirely unique as it allows the calculation of not only hours, but also minutes, seconds and days. So the sundial simultaneously performs the functions of a time-piece and a calendar./BLITS

Астрономите поискали от екипа на Мая Вапцарова да измерва на всеки половин час дължината на сянката и ориентацията й към посоките. Слънцето се движи по небето и за 1 час изминава 15 градуса с постоянна скорост. Ако имаме часовник, който е равнината, в която се движи Слънцето, то той показва тези ъгли, твърдят астрономите. С помощта на специален кръг, съобразявайки се с изместването на земната ос, те изчислили, че часовникът е минимум отпреди 5000 години, но при по-прецизни изчисления може да се окаже, че възрастта му може и да е до 10 000 г. Според тях този часовник наистина е уникален и чрез него могат да се отчитат не само часовете, а минутите, секундите и дните, така че той едновременно с това изпълнява функцията и на календар. /БЛИЦ
