There will be heightened restrictions on visitors from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.

Travelers from the U.S., Canada and dozens of other countries who do not require visas to enter the UK will soon need to apply for digital authorization in order to visit or transit through the country.

As of Jan. 8, an electronic travel authorization will be required for visitors from dozens of visa-exempt countries, including the United States and Canada.

This year Amsterdam proposed restrictions to the way tourists enter and stay in the city with the aim to limit overnight stays to just 20 million tourists annually.
