Christmas in Poland? It’s hard to beat the atmosphere. 🎄✨

Every winter, Christmas markets take over cities across the country, from big historic squares to smaller local spots filled with lights, seasonal treats, handmade gifts and plenty of festive spirit.

We’ve rounded up the 2026 dates for some of Poland’s biggest Christmas markets, including Wrocław, Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań, Katowice and Gdańsk.

And there’s plenty more to discover - Szczecin, Toruń, Łódź, Lublin and Opole also get into the holiday spirit.

Museum season is officially here and if you’re traveling through Poland, there’s a lot more waiting indoors than you might expect. 🍂🏛️

Across the country, museums tell Poland’s story from very different angles. In Gdańsk, the European Solidarity Centre explores the movement that helped change the course of modern Europe, while the Museum of the Second World War offers a powerful look at one of the defining events of the 20th century. In Warsaw, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews takes visitors through 1,000 years of Jewish life, culture and history in Poland.

But not every museum visit has to be serious.

You can discover vintage neon signs in Warsaw, step into immersive digital art at melt museum, learn the story behind one of Poland’s best-known chocolate brands at the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory Museum, explore the world of amber in Gdańsk, or dive into Polish popular music in Opole. 🎶

And these are only a few suggestions from a list that could go on and on. From major museums in Poland’s biggest cities to smaller local and regional museums in towns across the country, there’s always something new to discover. History, art, design, music, food, traditions and everyday life all find their place here.

Some souvenirs end up in a drawer. This one ends up on your table. 💙

For centuries, the town of Bolesławiec in southwestern Poland has been known for its distinctive handmade pottery - today one of the most recognizable examples of Polish craftsmanship.

Its story began with something very local: the region’s rich deposits of high-quality clay. Over time, local potters developed their own techniques and decorative style, turning everyday ceramics into something unmistakably Bolesławiec.

The signature pieces are still decorated by hand, using small stamps to create intricate patterns of dots, flowers and the famous peacock-eye motif, most often in shades of cobalt blue.

And this is far from a forgotten tradition. Bolesławiec pottery is still made by local artisans, collected around the world and has built an especially enthusiastic following in places as far away as Japan.

Visit Bolesławiec today and you can see the workshops, learn how the pottery is made and even decorate your own piece.

A little piece of Poland you can actually bring home - and keep using long after the trip is over. 🇵🇱

Some travel stories come with a place in history.

For Fidel Jesus Hernandez, visiting Poland’s Baltic coast included meeting L**h Wałęsa on the former president’s 83rd birthday, at the Europejskie Centrum Solidarności I European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk. Quite a moment to add to a reporter’s notebook.

The journalist, photographer and video producer behind stories for Diario Las Americas is exploring Pomerania and the Tri-City- Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot, with his camera ready and plenty of questions.

Three cities, three distinct personalities, and stories that reach well beyond the waterfront.

Next on his Poland itinerary Toruń and Warsaw. More places to explore, more stories to bring home.

Poland on screen this Polish Heritage Month.

The 7News DC Good Morning Washington team has just wrapped up a visit to Poland, filming six episodes for Polish Heritage Month this October. Through visits and conversations in Warsaw, Kraków and Powidz, the series explores six themes: business and the economy, innovation, science and research, energy, defense and Polish-American cooperation, and tourism.

From university labs and technology companies to conversations with Polish and American soldiers, the crew met people whose work is shaping Poland’s future. The tourism episode brings viewers closer to the country’s historic cities, cultural treasures, and food, with plenty of reasons to start planning a visit.

The trip was organized by the Polish National Tourist Office, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C., the City of Warsaw and City of Kraków, with support from many partners in both cities.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed the team and shared their stories. We look forward to seeing Poland through the eyes of Good Morning Washington this October!

World Tourism Day is a good reminder that travel is about much more than checking places off a list. It’s about discovering new stories, meeting people, tasting something you’ve never tried before, and seeing a destination from a different perspective.

And Poland gives travelers plenty to discover.

Historic cities and contemporary culture. Baltic beaches and mountain trails. Medieval castles, UNESCO World Heritage sites, national parks, local food traditions, vibrant neighborhoods and landscapes that can change completely within just a few hours of travel.

Walk through the streets of Kraków, experience Warsaw’s energy and history, discover Gdańsk on the Baltic coast, explore Wrocław, Łódź, Lublin or Toruń - and then go beyond the cities to Poland’s lakes, forests, mountains and smaller towns.

For American travelers, Poland is also closer than it may seem, with nonstop connections from the U.S. making it easier to turn curiosity into a trip.
On World Tourism Day, we celebrate the journeys that connect people, places and cultures.

There’s a reason we call it Golden Polish Fall. 🍂🇵🇱

In Poland, the changing seasons are more than just a shift in the weather. They shape the way we spend our time, the food we eat, and the landscapes we love to explore. And when fall arrives, the country takes on a whole new character.

Forests turn shades of gold and copper, parks fill with fallen leaves, and the mornings become a little crisper. It’s the season for long walks, mushroom picking, cozy cafés, and weekend getaways to the mountains.

From the colorful trails of the Tatra Mountains to the golden trees of Warsaw’s Łazienki Park, fall is one of the most beautiful times to experience Poland at a slower pace.
