YAY, RADIANCE is wet again. On top of that, her new engine is running great and moving her along well. Especially after I fixed the reversed engine controls as reverse was forward from my initial install. She’s happy now. Ready for our Spring river trip of 24 bridges than open water on Lake Michigan to her berth in Montrose Harbor!

What fun to see this nearly 19 year old telling of my first skippering of this classic race. I haven’t missed one since though I bought I larger/newer ‘Radiance’ for the next year. I’m honored to still be sailing with many of the same crew!

Finding an opportunity to go racing, whether it be on a Hunter 336 for a weekly beer can series or a professionally crewed TP52, can be daunting. All the way through the ranks, most sailboat teams are tight little units with core groups of regulars.
