Want energy-efficient glass in your patio doors? Look for Low-E glass, gas fillings such as argon or krypton, multiple layers of glazing, a U-factor of .65 or lower for hot climates, a low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of .40 or lower, and of course the Energy Star rating is a good indicator of energy-efficiency too.
