Ayse Celasun is a French tenured professor, originally from Istanbul, who began her music studies at age 5 and moved to Paris on a scholarship to the Ecole Normale de Musique, studying under Germaine Mounier.

She earned a Higher Diploma and a degree in musicology from the University of Paris VIII, then taught and performed internationally.

Between 1989-1991, she worked with Arkady Aronov in New York before returning to Paris to teach.

In 2012, she moved to Chicago, founding the nonprofit “Fine Arts Music – Performance and Scholarship” and, in 2014, Notre École de Musique, a French curriculum music school “conservatoire”.

Ayse speaks four languages and enjoys Dutch art, chess, and sports.
