Just thought I would share my pets, a mini golden doodle and angora rabbit. I guess I could call them my fur babies.

Wild horses just galloped back into Spain after being gone for 10,000 years.
Nope, not a fantasy movie plot. This is real life. For the first time in millennia, 35 Przewalski’s horses were released into Spain’s Iberian Highlands, making history in one of the most ambitious rewilding projects ever attempted.
Here’s why this is mind-blowing. These aren’t just any horses. Przewalski’s horses are the last truly wild horses on Earth. Unlike mustangs or brumbies, they were never domesticated. They’re stocky, tough, with short manes that stand straight up, and they look like they were carved out of prehistory. In fact, cave paintings from the Ice Age actually show them.
But here’s the catch. They almost disappeared forever. By the mid-20th century, Przewalski’s horses were extinct in the wild, surviving only in zoos. Scientists had to launch one of the most intense conservation breeding programs in history to save them. Every Przewalski’s horse alive today traces back to just a handful of survivors. Talk about a comeback story.
Now, they’re not just surviving. They’re reclaiming landscapes. In Spain, these horses are expected to help shape the land by grazing, clearing vegetation, and creating habitats for other species. They’re literally helping ecosystems heal, proof that rewilding works when people put science and patience into action.
And the thought that wild horses disappeared from Europe for 10,000 years and are now back? That’s goosebump-inducing. Imagine standing in the Highlands, watching animals that walked alongside mammoths and saber-toothed cats, now thundering across the land again.
So here’s the takeaway. Extinction doesn’t always have to be forever. With enough determination, species can come back from the edge and even reclaim their ancient homes.
And honestly? These wild horses are giving “epic homecoming” a whole new meaning.
