Tomorrow is the DAY!!
Course is ready, conditions will be perfect,
200+ participants, lots of volunteers and Kids Quad is FREE!!
Course update:
Bike- Lobo Canyon Rd is clear of snow and ice. Road crews will sweep the cinders Friday morning.
Run- Snowpacked and icy. Expect slick conditions in the morning and slick/ muddy conditions on the way down in the afternoon.
Ski- Uphill and downhill courses are looking great. There is plenty of coverage and the trail is smooth. Warm temps over the next couple days will harden the snow and increase ice. Check your speed on the way down if you're unfamiliar with the course. Enjoy! We have more snow on the course than we have in years.
Snowshoe- Uphill course is in great shape. There's a lot of snow on the face and great coverage. The snow on the groomed trail is packed and supportive. On the way down we will route you through the trees on the north side of the summit treeline. The snow there is soft and less supportive. You may posthole a bit if you're on small snowshoes.
The forecast for race day couldn't be better. We're expecting warm temperatures, mostly sunny conditions and light winds. Of course, temps will drop and wind will increase as you move up the mountain.
Good luck with your final preparations and we'll see you tomorrow in Grants!
