We’ve come a long way from the beginning of this project. The first two photos were the beginning of demo where you can see the front bedroom with the arched doorway and then completely gutted.

We took advantage of this rainy day to make headway on the front bedroom! Some wallpaper, and bed assembly made for a productive day. Next—closet door, blinds, curtains, side tables and finishing touches. Stay tuned for more.

We are approved and official! So thankful to all the guidance from the Planning director and assistant fire chief here in Cicero. Truly a great team effort.

I am so happy and thankful to announce that the Cicero BZA has approved the Morse Haven property to be used as a Vacation Rental!

This crazy vision I had over a year ago when I first saw the property is one step closer to becoming reality. We can officially say we are Morse Haven Resort!

Targeting to be open Memorial Weekend.

Thank you to all who have helped get us to this point. It has been quite the experience.

We are in the home stretch in the back house. A few details to finish up this week! Kitchen chairs are being delivered later in the week and more details to finalize but it is clean and so very very close to completion while we wait for the exterior painting and upgrades to be finalized!! Stay tuned!

All three beaded light fixtures installed upstairs of the back house! Love the look…took way more effort than I planned. Mattresses on the queen trundle. On to making beds now and finishing up this floor!

It’s a busy week at Morse Haven. The back house is getting splashed of color, new light fixtures and finishing touches! The front house is in the home stretch with final painting, plumbing fixtures and countertops. Furniture has started to arrive.

Exterior work has begun but the weather has not been kind. Keep an eye out for big changes this next week 🙂!

The gals were busy today! Toilets, bathroom tile, kitchen tile, door k***s, bathroom lights, under cabinet lights, keyless entry for all exterior doors!! And we managed to install a new microwave/convection oven at home!! Pictures in two weeks will show a lot of progress!

I haven’t posted progress for awhile. We are in the home stretch of finishing interior touches. Cabinets are in. Walls initially painted. Trim in. Lighting completed. Flooring and tile next. Need warm weather to execute the approved exterior aesthic plan! Appliances are being delivered Friday weather permitting!!

I’m so very excited and thankful that the planning commission approved my external aesthetic plan! This plan includes paint colors, new cedar columns, shutters and exterior doors.

The vision continues to materialize.

Bathroom, laundry room and kitchen cabinets were delivered this morning!! Interior painting starts next week and then cabinet install. I cannot wait!
