From BIG ideas to the national stage! 💡

Meet Arslan Khouni, a student from our inaugural Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) cohort! When Arslan joined YEA!, he had plenty of business ideas but wasn't sure how to bring them to life. Through the program, he learned how to build a business, think like an entrepreneur, and pitch his ideas to investors.

"This program didn't just help me grow as an entrepreneur, but as a person too." – Arslan Khouni

Arslan's journey even took him to Frisco, Texas, where he represented our community as a finalist in the YEA! National Competition!

Now we're looking for the next generation of young entrepreneurs! Applications are open for students in grades 6–12 for our second YEA! cohort, beginning in January 2027. Know a student with a BIG idea? Encourage them to apply by November 13, 2026!

Fight the Bite: Help Prevent the Spread of Dengue! 🦟

The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County is encouraging residents, visitors, and local businesses to take precautions as health officials continue responding to the ongoing dengue fever outbreak in our area.

With so many people enjoying our outdoor destinations, mosquito bite prevention is especially important.

Local businesses can help spread awareness by displaying the Department of Health's "Fight the Bite" prevention materials in areas visible to customers and visitors.

Remember to eliminate standing water around your property, use mosquito repellent, and take steps to protect yourself and others from mosquito bites.

Together, we can help keep our community informed and reduce the risk of dengue transmission.
