Did you know the largest covered bridge is only 1 hour from Cleveland, Ohio? Yeah, I didn’t know that 🤣. It’s beautiful right now with all the fall colors.

Come with us on a relaxing fall getaway to Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, just one hour from Cleveland.

We started with breakfast at The Lodge, then we went to Lake Erie Canopy Tours. It was our first time doing ziplines and adventure courses as a family, and we had lots of fun. Plus the gorgeous fall colors made it even better!

We also rented a golf cart and road around Geneva State Park before visiting Breakwater Beach.

Next we stopped by the GOTL Visitor Center on the strip to grab our free family fun passport so our kids could do a scavenger hunt around town and win a prize.

Dinner that night was at Horizon’s, which was fantastic. After the sun set, we grabbed our free s’mores kit and roasted some treats while listening to the peaceful sound of the water. We also swam in the pool and played games in the cottage.

On our last day, we rented the free bicycles included with every stay and rode them along the lake. We also grabbed donuts from Madsen Donuts, and saw the longest covered bridge in the United States—which I had no idea was so close to Cleveland!

We loved how The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake had so many on site activities for our family to enjoy together. This relaxing fall weekend was just what our family needed, and we can’t wait to visit again.

👻 It’s the last week to visit the Carlisle Reservation while the Halloween decorations are up.

🎃 Things to do during your visit (and it’s all FREE )🎃

-Indoor dinosaur themed playground
-discovery room with nature and reptiles
-Raptor Center
-children’s nature and discovery trail with cute nature cabins, storywalk and small nature play
-Halloween fair trail (loops behind the visit center)

The park will be open for their normal hours October 19-22 and then closing at noon October 23-24 for the final weekend of their event ( which is sold out) and then they normally start taking down the decorations following the final weekend of their event.
