It’s almost Cowpea time! 🫘🎉

The International Cowpea Festival and Cook-off returns to Charleston on Saturday, Sept. 12, with a full day of live music, food, handmade arts and crafts, kids’ activities and, of course, plenty of cowpeas!

Come hungry for the Professional Cowpea Cook-off, where you can taste the creations and vote for your favorite, then stick around for live music throughout the day. 🎶

We’re getting ready for a full day of live music in Charleston, TN on Saturday, Sept. 12.

YIPPEA! The Cowpea Crew would like to announce that the Cook-off Tasting Spoons/Tickets have arrived and pre-sales have begun!!! 🎉🫘

You can purchase them at the Hiwassee River Heritage Center in Charleston, TN. You can also purchase them at the festival on Sept. 12 while supplies last. Tasting Spoons/Tickets are only $5. (This allows you to taste all five Professional Chef Cowpea Creations and vote for your favorite!)

Don't forget Casey Chesnutt will be headlining and festival admission is only $5! All proceeds from the festival fund the operations of the Heritage Center! We hope to see you at the 2026 International Cowpea Festival and Cook-off, it's going to be Pea-tastic!!! 😀
