This area usually receives snow with little wind so measurements would be easier to record. We lived in Glennallen MP 110 and are familiar with the Thompson Pass snowfall phenomenon. I don't doubt either measurement.

Last week, as most of Alaska joined the cryosphere and became snow-covered, one area again stood out as one of the snowiest places on the planet.

Flying in Alaska is commonplace either for recreation or more importantly for commerce. Transportation of passengers and cargo to over 220 villages & sites takes a large fleet of small planes and scores of qualified pilots. Technology for navigation and communication makes flying the safest it has ever been. Getting off the ground gives a view you will never forget.

The road system (about 3000 miles) in Alaska reaches only about 25% of the state. The airplane services about 220 towns and villages in the remainder of the state.

June 20 gives Alaskans a reason to celebrate the the season of light. Fishing all night and camping without the need of artificial light are just 2 examples of the magic of summer.
December 20 however gives Alaskans another reason to celebrate. The days start to lengthen. Summers coming!
There is always a reason to celebrate if we look for it.
