This is MSC Cruises' fabulous private Bahamian island called Ocean Cay. Unfortunately for Texas cruisers, MSC only sails from East Coast ports, primarily from Miami.

Here's hoping that someday MSC will call the Port of Galveston home, too.

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that they will discontinue making towel animals on their ships. Why, you might ask?

Think about it. Every towel animal that is made is typically made from two towels. At the end of the day those two towels have to be laundered. They cannot be reused without being washed.

Cruise ships today have over 1,000 staterooms (many have many more than that). So, that's at least 2,000 towels EACH DAY that have to be laundered. And the resulting gray water from all of those washes has to be disposed of. Yep, that gray water will enter our environment.

We agree with Norehgian on this change. Goodbye, towel animals. It was nice knowing you. But our environment is more important.
