One week from today, I’ll be at my very first craft show with my Travel Collection — so this is what my Saturday morning looks like!

My candle room is definitely in full production mode today. I’m pouring four destinations: The Harvest Express, Highland Loch, Forty Shades of Green and Moroccan Marketplace. Everything is in various stages of pouring and cooling.

The Harvest Express has my entire room smelling incredible right now — warm pumpkin blended with that wonderful old-library scent. I wish I could somehow attach the smell to this photo!

I’ve also been working on Forty Shades of Green, my Ireland-inspired fragrance. After getting some feedback from family, I went back and tweaked the recipe a bit, and I’m so happy I did. The new blend turned out beautifully.

It’s a little surreal seeing all of these candles lined up knowing that next weekend I’ll actually be taking them to my first show at Empty Pockets Ranch in Cobleskill.

Back to pouring — I have a lot to get done!

Tell me you have grandkids without telling me you have grandkids. 😂

Opened the dishwasher and found this mixed in with the real silverware. Apparently somebody thought their pretend knife needed a good washing too.

I have no idea which grandchild did it. 🩷🩵

Happy National Dog Day to my sweet, crazy Petey! 🐾❤️

Petey is 10 years old, but apparently nobody has told him he’s supposed to be slowing down.

He still faithfully protects our home from all the major threats: the mail person, FedEx guy, walkers, bikers, blowing leaves…and the Amish. 😂

He loves steak, enjoys destroying the cats’ toys, and one of his favorite pastimes is watching soccer on TV.

And then there’s the diaper.

Petey cannot always be trusted, especially when it’s cold outside. But excitement is really his downfall.

New toy? He pees.
Dad came home? He pees.
Steak for dinner? He pees.
FedEx guy? He pees.

Basically, Petey has a lot of feelings. 😂

But underneath all that crazy is the sweetest, most lovable little guy, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

Happy National Dog Day to my little-old man who absolutely refuses to act his age. ❤️

TRAVEL TIP TUESDAY ✈️

Your passport’s expiration date may NOT be the date that matters.

One of the biggest passport misconceptions is assuming that if your passport is valid through the dates of your trip, you’re good to go.

Not necessarily!

Depending on where you’re traveling, your passport may need to be valid for 3 or even 6 months beyond your travel dates. Entry requirements vary by destination, so a passport that technically hasn’t expired could still cause problems for your trip.

Before booking international travel:
• Check your passport’s expiration date
• Check the passport validity requirements for your destination
• Give yourself plenty of time to renew if needed

👉This is actually one of the first things I have my clients check when we start planning an international trip. I’d much rather catch a passport issue at the beginning of the planning process than have it become a stressful surprise when departure is getting close.

🚨 **SCAM ALERT — CARNIVAL CRUISERS, PLEASE READ!** 🚨

I wanted to share an important warning with my clients and fellow cruisers after seeing a scam involving Carnival Cruise Line bookings.

If you log into your Carnival Cruise Manager to make a purchase or complete your check-in and suddenly receive a pop-up saying **“Invalid Credentials”** with a phone number to call to prevent your booking from being cancelled — **DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER.**

In the situation I saw, the number was actually connected to **WhatsApp**, and the person answering pretended to be Carnival. They claimed they needed to verify the reservation and then said a **$14.95 payment** was required or the cruise would be cancelled.

When the first card was supposedly “invalid,” they immediately asked for **another card number.** 🚩

That small $14.95 charge was likely never the real goal. It was a way to obtain credit card information — and claiming the first card was invalid could potentially give the scammers access to **more than one card.**

❤️ THIS IS ALSO WHY BOOKING WITH A TRAVEL ADVISOR MATTERS.**

When you book your cruise through a Travel Advisor, you have someone you can contact directly when something doesn't look right. You don't have to figure out whether a strange pop-up, phone call, email or payment request is legitimate on your own.
If someone claiming to be Carnival contacts you and something feels suspicious, simply say: "I booked through a Travel Advisor. I will contact my Travel Advisor directly.”

Then hang up.

Don't give the caller your Travel Advisor's name, booking information, or any additional details.

Scammers can be **extremely convincing**, and creating a sense of urgency — especially threatening that your vacation will be cancelled — is designed to make you react before you have time to think. ** The good news is, a scammer can't cancel your cruise that is booked with a travel advisor! Only the travel advisor can do this step for you - another level of protection when booking with a travel advisor**

🚨 WHEN IN DOUBT: STOP. HANG UP. CONTACT YOUR TRAVEL ADVISOR.
