Groupers know it’s not May. Big warsaw caught on the chicken rig 40lb test small hook.
We actually can never keep warsaws on our coast. Another absolutely ridiculous rule by NMFS. These fish are not targeted, almost always a bycatch of the deep and the way there swim bladders seem to work they never seem to live. We desperately need smarter fishery’s management!

Full day trip yesterday. Started the morning out mahi fishing. Finished the afternoon chicken rigging for triggers and vermilion’s. 6 grouper that came up on the chicken rigs. You won’t believe the size of the last gag that was caught on 40lb test chicken rig. I will post it later. It’s going to be good in May so make sure you have a spot.
