Happy tree Tuesday!
Did you know that this tree halfway up the staircase between line 5 and line 6 smells like butterscotch or vanilla?
That’s because ponderosa pine bark and sap contain natural oils called terpenes. When the sun warms the thick tree bark, these oils evaporate and release a sweet smell!
Come check it out this summer! And trust your guide when they tell you to smell the tree ;)
