Last night scenes in Colby! We could see a storm cloud forming from far away and it sure was beautiful!

ATTENTION:

If you’re traveling along I-70 and happen to spot this Colby billboard, you might notice something a little funny! 👀

While the billboard says Colby is 3 hours ahead, you’re actually only about 10 minutes away! 😂

Our billboard company accidentally printed and installed the wrong billboard design at this location. We’ve made them aware of the mix-up, and they’re currently working on getting it corrected!

In the meantime, don’t let the sign fool you! The Oasis on the Plains is just around the corner! 💙

What an incredible few days in Wichita for the 2026 TIAK Conference! 🌻✨

I’m heading home feeling inspired, motivated, and full of new ideas to bring back to Colby! This conference was such an educational experience and a great reminder that even small communities like ours have BIG stories to tell!

A huge THANK YOU to Visit Wichita for the wonderful hospitality and to TIAK for putting together such a fantastic conference!

And to all of my fellow tourism professionals and networking peers, thank you for the conversations, shared knowledge, and inspiration. I’m so grateful to be part of an industry filled with people who are passionate about their communities!

I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and continue finding new ways to showcase Colby, support our local businesses, and make our Oasis on the Plains a destination worth discovering! 💙

Bittersweet to be sharing this! 🥹 While I’m sad to see my coworker and friend move on, I’m also very excited for her and this next chapter!
That said, I’m looking forward to welcoming a new Chamber President to work alongside me as the Colby Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director! We work closely together, and I can’t wait to see who steps into this role and collaborate to accomplish success for our community! 🤍

If you think you’d be a great fit, check out the opportunity below!

If you've been keeping up with the Colby Convention & Visitors Bureau's page, you've probably seen some of the cool old newspaper clippings they've been sharing!

They recently came across some articles from 1969 featuring the Chamber and were kind enough to let us scan and save the images. How cool is this?! A Chamber membership directory from 1969!

Take a look and see which businesses are still Chamber members today!

STOP!! Before you read.. do you recognize this building?? It is still standing today but is not in use. Give us your best guess by commenting, and then read the article to find out!
